Cabrini Retreat Center welcomes groups and individuals of all faiths for meetings, retreats and times of personal prayer.

Our Heritage
The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC) opened the Cabrini Retreat Center in 1958 as a place of rest, reflection and renewal for its sisters. Within the next 10 years, lay groups began coming to the Center for workshops and days of prayer, and eventually the Center became a place of hospitality for overnight retreats. It now welcomes over 6,200 retreatants annually.
In the loving and charitable spirit of Mother Cabrini, Cabrini Center also has historically opened its doors to youth, immigrants and other people seeking spiritual reflection and renewal, at very affordable and often reduced rates. Caring for the spiritual and physical needs of others and making them feel loved, welcomed and at home was always at the heart of everything that Mother Cabrini achieved in her life on earth, and it is very much at the heart of the way in which the Center operates today.
Fees
Fees at Cabrini Retreat Center are reasonable and comparable to other Centers in the area. The hospitality staff will be happy to provide details about fees, seasonal discounts, mid-week discounts and youth group rates. Call us at 847-297-6530 or email the Hospitality Office with your inquiry.
Special funding may be available through the Retreat Angel program or other designated ministry grants.
Location
Cabrini Retreat Center is located at 9430 Golf Road, Des Plaines IL 60016 at the north-side intersection of Golf (IL-58) and the end of Potter Road, 7.8 miles from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and 20 miles northwest of the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
Due to Illinois Department of Transportation regulations, entrance to the Cabrini Retreat Center is only accessible traveling WEST on Golf Road.
If traveling north on 294 or east, a suggested route:
- East on Dempster (IL-14) past Potter Road approximately 1 mile to Greenwood Avenue.
Turn left (north) onto Greenwood Avenue (traffic light)
- Turn left (west) onto Golf Road approximately 1 mile (traffic light)
- West on Golf Road approximately 1 mile to Golf and Potter intersection (traffic light).
- Turn right (north) into the Retreat Center drive. The Center is on north side of street across from Jiffy Lube / Meineke Muffler (red and yellow signs).
Please note: while there IS a Golf Road exit off of south bound 294 - there is no Golf Road exit when traveling north on 294. For additional information, call the Retreat Center at 847-297-6530.
